Kara Irish Pottery endeavors to bring a bit of the beauty of Ireland to your home. Their handcrafted Irish designs are sure to bring joy and comfort to family and friends. Inspired by Irish culture and tradition, they create Irish jobs and beautiful pottery for the American home. The name Kara comes from the Gaelic name Cara, meaning friend. Founder Ann Karakatsanis worked in Derry and later attended the Development of Entrepreneurs in Boston for Ireland at Boston College. She was inspired to create her own business, and working closely with her old employer in Ulster, she created the Aranware Tableware Collection. It features embossed intricate patterns that emulate Irish heritage and attention to detail. Each pattern is inspired by traditional Aran woolen sweaters. 

Double Zigzag

The two lines complement one another and move as one, therefore acting as a perfect analogy for marriage and commitment through the ups and downs of life.

The linking patterns represent the never-ending connection with those who have left the home for adventure.

Honeycomb

The honeycomb pattern demonstrates that hard work yields a worthy reward, just as a honeybee toils away to produce the sweet honeycomb. 

Zigzag

This moving pattern represents the twisting paths on the breathtaking cliffs along the shores of Ireland. 

Diamond

The diamond is demonstrative of the fruits of success and wealth. 

Basket

The basket was used to carry the overflowing catches of the sea, just as it is full of bountiful homemade meals today.
