Sun, Apr 2 - DUBLIN ARRIVAL , KILKENNY & KINSALE After landing in Dublin, our driver will welcome us to Ireland and escort us to the coach. Depart Dublin and journey south into County Wicklow for breakfast with our friends at Fado Jewelry. Then journey south through the picturesque Vale of Avoca to the medieval town of Kilkenny. Enjoy a walking tour with a humorous and informative guide who will show you Kilkenny’s many historical and architectural delights. Then continue south into County Cork to Kinsale, check into your hotel and enjoy some time to relax before dinner.
Mon, Apr 3 - KINSALE WALKING TOUR & FREE TIME This morning take a brief walking tour with a local guide to learn the history of Kinsale. The town traces its origins back to the 1177’s Anglo-Normans and grew as a port town during the 18th century. After your tour, the balance of the day is free for you to explore this charming town. A few miles outside the town you may visit Charles Fort, which was built in the 1670s to protect the area against naval attack. Kinsale is dubbed “the Gourmet Capital” of Ireland and you will be able to choose from many fine places for dinner.
Tue, Apr 4 - JAUNTING CAR & MUCKROSS HOUSE & GARDENS After breakfast this morning, depart Kinsale and travel through the rich farming country of County Cork to Millstreet for a walk around this typical farming town. Then continue to Killarney where a horse drawn jaunting car will bring you through Killarney National Park to Muckross House, a 19th century mansion. On a guided tour enjoy the elegant rooms and rich furnishings and learn about the local history and ties to the United States. Enjoy the a stroll through the beautiful gardens and then return to Killarney where the rest of the day is free. Tonight you can enjoy one of the many wonderful pubs that feature traditional Irish music.
Wed, Apr 5 - DINGLE PENINSULA Today discover the spectacular beauty of the Dingle Peninsula with it’s heathery mountains, sandy stretches of beach and rocky headlands. Stop in the town of Dingle for some leisure time before continuing on to Slea Head at the western tip of the peninsula. This excursion will give you excellent views of mountains and coastline and looking over to the Iveragh Peninsula. On the return to Killarney, stop in the town of Inch for dinner and entertainment at the charming Foley’s Pub.
Thur, Apr 6 - CLIFFS OF MOHER, THE BURREN & GALWAY Depart Killarney this morning and travel north through the village of Listowel to O’MEARA’S TOUR OF IRELAND ~ ITINERARY Tarbert. Take a 20-minute ferry ride across the River Shannon estuary and drive along the coastline of County Clare to view the Cliffs of Moher, one of the country’s most magnificent rock formations that rise to heights of almost 700 feet above the Atlantic swells. Pass through the Burren Country, a unique area of rocky limestone hills and prehistoric monuments. Drive around Galway Bay before arriving in Galway for a gentle walking tour with a local guide. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure before dinner in the hotel restaurant.
Fri, Apr 7 - GALWAY AT LEISURE Today is free for you to enjoy this great little city. Galway is small enough to stroll around and see the principal sights, such as the large modern cathedral set on an island on the River Corrib, the Spanish Arch in the Claddagh area, formerly a fishing village, the City Museum and the National University of Galway. Enjoy Eyre Square and the surrounding streets which are full of buskers and shops and quaint pubs. You can stroll on the Promenade overlooking the crashing Atlantic Ocean. Whatever you choose to do, you will love this city!
Sat, Apr 8 - GALWAY TO DUBLIN Travel east from Galway to visit Clonmacnoise, a monastic settlement founded in 545 AD by St. Ciaran and set on the banks of the River Shannon. Then continue to Dublin, Ireland’s capital city. After checking into your city center hotel, you will have time to stroll and explore before dinner. Tonight we enjoy an evening of storytelling with Food, Folk and Fairies at Brazen Head Pub, Dublin’s oldest, dating back to 1198.
Sun, Apr 9 - DUBLIN HIGHLIGHTS, GLASNEVIN & GUINNESS A local guide will show you around Dublin, an ancient settlement, founded by the Vikings in the 9th century. The city has been molded through the centuries with many architectural styles reflecting the economic, political and artistic influences. Drive to the Glasnevin Museum, Ireland’s national necropolis, which is a who’s who of modern Irish history as the final resting place of Daniel O’Connell, Michael Collins, Charles Stewart Parnell and Brendan Behan among others. Then visit the Guinness Storehouse to see exhibits on how this world famous stout was first created and why it is so popular today. Finish your visit with a pint in the roof-top bar, Gravity, overlooking the city center. This evening you are free to choose from the many restaurants and pubs that Dublin has to offer.
Mon, Apr 10 - RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES Transfer to Dublin Airport to check in for your flight. Enjoy last minute shopping at the duty free stores. Then clear U.S. Immigration before boarding your aircraft and flying westward to the United States. Itinerary is subject to change
